What first inspired you to become a property investor?
Two things really. Firstly the fact that property is an ever growing asset – unlike other investment forms, property will never go down to zero value. Never! Instead, it will continue to double in value on average every 7 to 10 years, so really what we are seeing now is nothing to what we’ll see in 10 years.
Then of course, there is properties ability to earn a passive income year after year.
Yes it can not be denied that with the recession, the level of finance has become a lot more restricting in the last 4 years. But as the Property Mentor System proves, by simply adapting your strategies, adjusting your tools and moving with the market changes – not against them – property investment is still possible.
How did you get into property investment?
In many ways it came about by pure chance. I had just failed my first year in Biomedical Science at Edinburgh University and wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with my life.
So when my mate Stephen saw Property Mentor on the BBC’s Money Programme back in October 2004, we decided to give their 2 hour taster session a try and we were really impressed with what we saw.
Property Mentor proved that by simply understanding you are in for the long term; that you shouldn’t rely solely on equity growth and that cash flow is key; you CAN succeed as a professional property investor - no matter where you invest.
The event was truly inspiring, and by May 2005 we had signed up to Property Mentor’s Full Weekend Workshop.
What has been your greatest achievement?
Getting onto the property ladder! Without the Property Mentor System, I would still be trying to save up my first deposit, whereas now I own multiple property investments - one of which has earned me a passive income of £4,680. How can you honestly beat that?
