Why Do YOU Want To Move Home
Homeowners choose to move home for a number of different reasons, but according to a survey by Abbey Mortgages one of the main reasons homeowners choose to move is because of neighbour disputes.
During a recent survey, Abbey discovered that 95,200 people have moved home since 2007 due to no longer being able to cope with fighting neighbours.
From loud televisions to more serious claims of failing to disclose about major redevelopments on adjoining properties, the reasons for these complaints vary. Yet property experts claim disclosing details of these disputes – no matter how small - are important when it comes to property sales.
By law, sellers must declare all disputes to buyers before they invest in a property – using a Property Information Form - otherwise the buyer can sue the seller for damages.
However despite the complications behind this reason to move, not all reasons are negative…
Of the 680,000 homeowners surveyed, one in three chose to move to try and move up the property ladder, whilst one in five wanted more space.
Others reasons include:
- Relocating to a new job
- Moving within a catchment area for a better school
- Owning their dream home
