When Will You Get Onto The Property Ladder?
Whilst the UK may be a nation who aspires to own their own property, it would seem that many of us are changing our mindset due to lack of funding and mortgage availability.
Yet it is not hard to see why…
With the average £150,000 property investment requiring a deposit of £33,000 first time buyers would have to save for years before they were able to invest.
Similarly with many first time buyers believing that they won’t be able to invest in property until they are at least 37, many are now adopting the same attitude as other countries such as Germany and have resolved to rent for the rest of their lives.
And this is good news for the buy to let market…
With more and more first time buyers choosing to rent for longer, there will be no shortage of demand for property investments.
But what about the rest of the property market?
Now this is the real question playing on property experts minds. Considering first time buyers play a pivotal role on the property ladder – allowing others to move up the rungs – the longer they choose to rent, the longer property owners will be trapped in their first home.
Hopefully balance will return to the property market, which will allow property owners to buy and rent on their own terms, but we will have to wait and see.
